Winter School
Winter School is MITOC’s annual winter outdoors extravaganza, and our largest event of the year. Every weekend during IAP you will have the opportunity to get outdoors, learn new skills, meet other MITOC folks, and explore the wilderness in New England.
Winter School is open to anyone who wants to get outside during the winter!
Guest speakers
7pm: Sawyer Alberi
Sawyer is a Wilderness First Aid expert who trained many of current MITOC leaders! She is a former Flight and Combat Medic with the Vermont Army National Guard, and taught mountaineering at the Army Mountain Warfare School. She will be joining us remotely from Vermont where she lives, and share with us her advice to survive and enjoy the Winter outdoors!
8pm: Nick Aielli-Popeo
Nick started rock climbing in the Fells Woods of Malden, MA. A few years later, he is now an accomplished mountaineer and guide, ascending high peaks in the Himalays. He will join us tonight on campus to talk about his recent first acent (and misfortune) on the Medusa Face in on Mt Neacola, Alaska.
