Don't know what to do on a cold day? What about giving Mt Willard a try? We will take a 3.1 mi out-and-back with 900 ft elevation gain. We will pass Centennial Pool and take an old carriage road to the summit. A spectacular view of the glacially-carved Crawford Notch awaits.

While this hike is normally rated easy, the extra cold setting will make it more challenging. This is probably not a good option for your first winter hike. We will practice:

  • Layering and delayering

  • Setting up and lighting a camp stove (so bring your choice of tea or chocolate mix if you'd like)

If we have extra time and interest, we will explore the AMC Highland Center afterwards.
