Have you always been interested in learning how to downhill ski, but never had the opportunity? Join Conner (co-ski trip leader with MITOC) and Geneviève (6 seasons of ski instructing experience) for an intro-level resort skiing trip at nearby Wachusett Mountain this Saturday!
We'll be meeting at the MIT Student Center at 10am on Saturday morning to give enough time for renting equipment at the resort, cruising along in the learning area for a 4-hour session, and then wrapping up on the hill at 3:45pm - just in time for some pizza in the ski lodge to reward those snazzy new pizza turns on the slopes!
The estimated trip cost is $59-$68: MITOC trip fee of $5 + $18 for the lift ticket + $35 for renting skis, boots, and poles + $10 helmet rental from the resort OR $1 helmet rental from MITOC). We'll cover transportation and rental logistics.
Though the day is supposed to be sunny and clear, expect cold weather, around 10F or -12C, with an additional ~10 degree wind chill. So make sure to bring those water/windproof layers to cover your entire body.
There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting over Zoom on Thursday at 6pm - stay tuned for more details.
