Bring your own hot tea!!!

Ring in the new year with a hike up Mt. Willey (4,285 feet) in the Whites with tea! It will be a moderate 4.8 mile out-and-back hike with 2,828 of elevation gain. Expect cold weather, around 3F or -16C, with additional wind chill! So make sure to bring those water/windproof layers to cover your entire body and insulated water bottles. There should be hardly any fresh snow so we will not need snowshoes. The day is supposed to be sunny and clear and we should see some beautiful views. If things are going very well, we might (might) continue on to Mt. Field, which would add another 2.5 miles to the trip for 7.3 miles total.

We will meet Sunday morning at 7am (probably the MIT Student Center, but stay tuned for exact location), check everyone's gear, and head to the Mt. Willey trailhead head together.

Mandatory pre-trip meeting will be at the student center on Thurs at 6pm - stay tuned for more details.
