We'll be hiking the Starr King Trail up Mt Waumbek this Saturday for a 7 mile/11.3km and over 2,800 feet/853m of elevation gain round trip.
It's going to be cold this Saturday with lows in the single digits, and this will be a great opportunity to practice your layering and heat management skills that you have developed on prior Winter School trips and cold-weather activities.
This trip is suitable for folks who are able to hike for ~5-6 hours and have some experience in cold conditions, although if you are new to cold weather hiking and do want to come along we are happy to help guide you through what you might need to bring/do to stay warm.
Bringing along hot beverages is not required, but is encouraged!
