Love of gear.

Dearest MITOC Spring Cleaners - Tired of having gear you’ll never use lurk in your closet? Does every item of your gear “bring you joy”? No? Yet, somehow simultaneously, you need moar gear? Wish you had money for that shiny, new gear? (Remember, the optimal gear amount is n+1!). Then come one, come all, no judgey just WWMKD* and let us gather at the Virtual MITOC Gear Sale!

All sellers and buyers should register for this event here on the MITOC Trip Page. (We are investigating Gathertown or other portal as an option, and a headcount is helpful.)

For Sellers:

Sort your gear - Please sell gear that is in reasonably clean and in safe** working condition. If it is being sold as a broken item or incomplete set please be sure to disclose this.

Take photos - Take photos of the items you are selling, ideally with a visible price tag in the photo.

Email Asha - Request the links to the google drive and spreadsheet.

Upload photos - There will be a communal Google Drive. Make a new folder with your name on it, and put your photos in that folder.

Spreadsheet - Update the Google Spreadsheet with your items.

Be Prepared - Please have everything uploaded and ready by Monday, May 3 at 5pm.

~~~~~~~~~~~
For Buyers:
Sign up to attend the event here on the MITOC Trip Page
Buyers will have access to the google sheet starting Monday May 3, at 6pm - Asha will email it out to the folks signed up on the trip page.
Buyers and sellers should attend the virtual event on Monday May 3, 6-7pm.
We will leave the google drive and spreadsheet open for 2 weeks afterwards, so folks can edit items to “sold” (change it to red).
Coordinating gear exchange can be difficult, especially since we will not have an official in person gathering. That said, Asha will be at the North West corner of Sennott Park in Cambridge at 6:00-7:00pm on Thursday, May 6th. Buyers and sellers are also of course free to coordinate an exchange time that works for them.
** MITOC is not responsible for the safety of any items sold or exchanged. It is up to the buyer to confidently and effectively evaluate the potential safety of any gear they wish to acquire. If you are not confident in your ability to assess the safety of any particular item we recommend that you refrain from purchasing a used item, consult an expert opinion, and seek a new item elsewhere instead.
