Previous winter hiking experience.

The Franconia ridge is one of the most iconic hikes of the Whites, with amazing views on both sides, and 2 miles of really fun above treeline exposed terrain!

The loop is about 8.5 miles with over 3500 feet in elevation gain. Full skin coverage is mandatory for the above treeline section: goggles, balaclava, warm gloves, etc.

We will be hiking the COUNTER-CLOCKWISE direction and exchanging high fives with another Franconia Ridge. They clearly made the wrong call by doing the hike in a silly direction, but we're still friends.
