Sharpen your cross country ski edges! We'll be heading out of Pinkham Notch along the Avalanche Brook Trail. We'll be herringboning our way up and will drop some knees for some tele turns on the way down.
Outbound leg: +1000ft elevation gain and -1800ft descent (5mi) Return leg: +1800ft elevation gain and -1000ft descent (5mi)
We have the option of an out and back (10mi) or just a one way (5mi). There will be significant elevation gain and descent, so expect this to be a bit rowdy for a cross country skiing trip. Here's the outbound leg of the route.
To that end, we want some pretty experienced skiers to make sure we can make this objective. This should NOT be your first time cross country skiing and you should be either an experienced nordic skier or an experience backcountry skier (sorry, no splitboarders for this one).

1) What's your cross country skiing experience? 2) What's your backcountry skiing experience? 3) What's the rowdiest thing you've skied down without your heels in?
