Prerequisites
top-rope belay experience (climbing gym is fine)

Our plan is to summit Chocorua on Saturday, spend the night on the mountain, and then do some top-rope ice climbing at Champney Falls on Sunday! You should have belay experience (climbing gym is fine), a sense of adventure, and high stoke!

We're going hike Mt. Chocorua via the Champney Falls Trail. When we get to Champney Falls (about 2 miles in) we'll find a place to camp and ditch all our overnight gear. This will involve a short section of off-trail travel which will likely make us all really appreciate trails! We'll then hike on to the summit of Mt. Chocorua which involves travel above treeline over rock and ice. We'll practice using crampons in this challenging terrain. We will then return to our overnight gear and spend the night on the mountain. The next morning, We'll pop down to Champney Falls and go ice climbing! At the end of the day, we'll hike out 2 miles to the cars.

We would like to head up on Friday night and stay at a MITOC cabin (Intervale) so that we can get an early start on Saturday morning.

Saturday: 7 miles and 2200' of elevation gain. One of the miles will be off-trail travel between campsite and trail. Sunday: Ice climbing, and then 2 miles of hiking, all down hill.
