Stay local this Monday and join us for a day of easy winter hiking in the Blue Hills. We'll leave Boston at a reasonable hour and drive down to the Reservation Headquarters. From there, we'll hike the skyline trail to the Great Blue Hill where we'll stop and have some civilized and tasty desserts and choice of hot beverage!
In total, the hike will be 3 miles round trip (with the potential to extend the trip if there is interest in the group) and about 1000 feet of gain. The weather will likely be sunny and too warm for specialized gear. This is still a great opportunity to practice layering and the triangle of happiness! We will still need some light traction with us.
Here is an example loop: Blue Hills Skyline Trail
The trip is limited to 10 people. If there is enough interest and cars we can extend it to more participants. We don't deem a pre-trip meeting necessary, but, please, stop after the lecture today (Thursday, 16th) to speak with us at the upper left back of the lecture room.
