Join other womxn and non-binary MITOCers to build a snowwomxn and, hopefully, restore Tecumseh to its former heights!
Last February, Mt Tecumseh suffered a shattering blow when it was removed from the list of New Hampshire's 4,000 footers after new measurements put the height at 3,995--a whole 8 feet shorter than the previous measurement of 4,003 feet!
Let's try to get Tecumseh back up to its previous lofty status by building an 8-foot snowwomxn! 5 feet will also do if we’re just shooting for 4,000.
This is one of the easier of the (erstwhile) 4,000 footers, at 5 miles and approximately 2,200 feet of elevation gain. It’s a great opportunity to get used to using winter traction (we will most likely be using microspikes) and experiencing the Whites in winter conditions.
This trip is intended for womxn and non-binary participants.* Members of the womxn’s cohort with prior winter experience are especially encouraged to attend!
*Here's a non-gender-binary attempt that will almost certainly evolve: This trip is for you if one or more of the following applies: 1) You are more female than male. 2) Physical or cultural aspects of being (or being perceived as) female have affected your experiences in the outdoors.
[This description has been adapted from Susan Ruff's. If, based on the above, you think we probably intend to include you but are not currently succeeding, please feel welcome to reach out and suggest better wording; we would love your feedback.]
