Prerequisites
Have done 3 season hiking before of at least similar distance and elevation gain.

The Welch and Dickey Mountain loop has one of the best views to elevation ratios in the White Mountains and is a great introductory trip to winter hiking and different types of traction for those who have done similar level or more intense 3 season hiking. The hike is 4.5 miles and 1650' elevation gain.

We will practice using crampons on icy ledges. The current forecast looks relatively cold, so we will also practice good layering and delayering techniques and our triangle of happiness.

If you'd like, bring your favorite hot drink (cocoa, apple cider, tea, etc.) in a thermos and cookie/biscuit to enjoy while we admire the views.
