Come hike Mount Chocorua and get an introduction to above tree line travel! The hike is about 7.5 miles (12 km) round trip and climbs 2200ft (660m), taking the Champney Falls trail. The last half mile to the summit is above the trees, so the views should be amazing with good weather. You get to experience how quickly conditions can change as you leave the trees, and learn how to travel safely. You should have hiked in the winter before and have a layering system that you are comfortable with. You should also have used crampons before as there is a section which requires traction for safety, and be okay with a bit of scrambling.
As the mountain name suggests, there will be chocolate involved.
