WE are headed out for an ADVENTURE ON AVALON!
Avalon is a neat rocky bump in the middle of the white mountains. When the view is clear, you can see down into the beautiful Crawford Notch, and get great looks at the southern presidentials.
This is an easy hike: we'll start at the Highland Center off 302, then we will slip, slide, and slosh our way ~3.7 miles round trip up to the top of Mt Avalon and back to the car, climbing about ~1600' of vert. Depending on time, we may continue up the Mount Avalon Trail and tag Mount Field!
The weather is looking rainy, so come prepared with waterproof clothing and a positive attitude!
This trip is suitable for people without any winter hiking experience.
