In this TRS, we'll explain the basics of multipitch sport climbing (bolted protection and anchors).

Time & Place

7PM in the MITOC Office W20-461, 4th floor of the student center

Required Gear

  • harness
  • tubular belay device + locker
  • double-length nylon sling
  • prusik loop + locker
  • 2-4 additional lockers
  • (optional) cordelette

  • Fall factors
  • Wandering routes and rope drag
  • Communication
  • The importance of self-rescue skills (escaping the belay, ascending the rope, rappelling and belaying without a belay device, lowering and hauling a second) and why you should take a self-rescue course
