There’s only one thing better than fresh powder in the middle of winter and that's skiing great corn in the middle of spring! For those of you who have put your skis in the closet for the summer, dust them off and get them back out! The ski season only gets better in April and this might be your last opportunity to get out!

Ski-a-palooza is the end-of-season two-day ski "circus". We will not have any official, organized trips, but instead will camp together at Barnes Field campground (off Route 16 north of Pinkham Notch) Friday and Saturday nights. Come meet new people and plan to ski somewhere each morning based on the conditions. You also have the opportunity to spend the entire day Saturday demoing gear at Black Mountain during Granite Backcountry Alliance's Wild Corn Shindig.

Saturday afternoon (if you choose to join) we'll head to Black Mountain for the festivities: http://granitebackcountryalliance.org/wildcorn. Some of us might even take part in the skimo race starting at 5:30. The event is shaping up to be a great day with lots of different organizations around the region who will be talking about their work and their projects opening up the backcountry to more enthusiasts. (Note: the event has a $10 cover charge, the race is $25)
