- At least one Winter school trip and comfortable hiking ten miles.
Join us hiking the beautiful 4000 footers Liberty and Flume--as a traverse! This will be a long and relatively hard hike, at ~11 miles and 3000ft elevation gain.
We'll start early at the Lincoln Woods Visitor Center and hike the flat Lincoln Woods Trail and then take the Osseo Trail up to Mt. Flume (4328') and Mt. Liberty (4459'). Then from Liberty we will slide down the Liberty Spring Trail to the Flume Visitor Center. Since this is a traverse, we'll shuttle cars between the two trailheads.
If you're interested in coming on this trip, you should be physically fit and comfortable hiking >10 miles. You'll have great chances to practice using traction, layering, and other winter hiking skills!
