Cannon mountain hosts an impressive array of lift served terrain on the North side, but on the undeveloped Western side the Tuckerbrook ski trail winds its way to the top of Mitersill peak. We'll skin up then descend on this classic backcountry ski trail that was originally cut by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s!

The trail is narrow (think jeep trail) and while snow depths are reported to be ample the combination of skiier traffic and forecasted high winds means we will likely encounter all types of surfaces on this trip from powder to ice. You'll need to be good enough with your downhill skill to navigate firm moguls safely (though you don't have to make it look good).

.

Ski Risk Warning: for those that are new to backcountry skiing & riding you may not realize the following ...

1) You will not get to “warm up on an easier run.” When we start skiing it will be full difficulty.

2) Trail conditions are not maintained and objective hazards (ex: ice patches, moguls, creeks, trees, hidden & exposed rocks) will exist.

2) Have you ever skinned before?

3) What gear will you skin on (AT, tele, or splitboard) and do need to rent it from MITOC?

4) Do you have a car? If so, how many skiiers+gear can it hold?
