Did you miss out on our first mentor/mentee event? Did you find someone already and want to get out and climb? Join us the weekend of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th at Camelot to climb, learn, teach, and socialize with other MITOC climbers!!!

We are opening up Camelot for any and all participants in the Mentor/Mentee program. The cabin stay is free, we will also provide dinner Sat night!

Requirements

  • You must be a current MITOC member with a valid waiver
  • Show up with your mentors and/or mentees
  • Plan and coordinate your own specific climbing trips for the open cabin weekend

Note: MITOC is not organizing specific official climbing trips for this weekend. We are making the cabin available to the mentors and mentees; those folks should then organize their own outings for Sat and Sun and take advantage of Camelot being open and available.

What do I have to do to participate?

Its easy, just be a current MITOC member and show up with you mentor/mentee[s] and go on a trip with them that weekend! That's it!

But I missed the first mentor event and am not part of the program . . . :(

Fear not! The mentor program is very open ended and has very little structure, just by looking for a mentor or mentee you are part of the program. There are no formal requirements or rules or rubrics other than to find a cool mentor or mentee to climb with, or even several. The events are focused on creating avenues for folks to get out and climb together and anyone can join in at any time.

What do I have to do to be a mentor/mentee?

Just find someone to climb with as a mentor/mentee group. There are no applications, fees, or rubrics.

I have several mentor/mentees, can we all go together?

Absolutely!

I don't have a mentor/mentee, what should I do?

Sign up for this trip, we will do our very best to make sure everyone has a mentor or mentee that is interested in going.

Fill out your name on the following google sheet! Also look on the sheet for someone to climb with that matches your goals. Don't forget to remove your name if you find someone.

Use the climber's list!

What kind of climbing trips can we go on?

Anything you'd like. For this event MITOC is not scheduling or planning any official climbing trips. Folks joining us for the weekend should coordinate with their mentors and mentees to work out exactly where and what they plan to climb before heading up to the cabin.

Is this going to be like a circus?

No, unlike circus we will not organize trips each night. It is the responsibility of every person in attendance to work out with their mentor/mentee(s) where and when they would like to climb.

Note: We will prioritize students. If space becomes an issue MITOC students will get priority.
