Want to learn how to properly clean sport anchors? This is useful for you when you are: (1) top-roping and the last person on the climb, or (2) sport-climbing and the last person on the climb. All outdoor rope climbers (whether TR or sport) should learn how to clean anchors. It's a valuable skill to have and will majorly enhance your outdoor game!

What we'll cover:

  1. Which way to hang quickdraws (if you're sport climbing)
  2. How to set a sport anchor when you reach the top
  3. How to clean the sport anchor when you are the last climber <-- we will mostly be practicing this until it feels second nature to you

Where:

Fri July 20 @ 8-10 pm, MIT wall

Bring:

  • harness, climbing shoes, belay device
  • personal anchor system (ie double sling [120cm nylon sling], metolius PAS 22, Petzl connect adjust, etc)
  • locking carabiner
