Prerequisites
Prior winter hiking experience, knowing how to properly layer for a cold day and keep all skins covered.

Join Osman, Donald and Richard for an above tree line attempt to the Boott spur peak south-east of Mt. Washington. As part of this endeavor, we will be likely breaking the Boott spur trail with snowshoes, performing our civic duty. On our way down we will take Boot spur link trail to check out Hermit lake shelters.

Although we will not be summiting Mt Washington, we will have great views of it as well as the Tuckerman ravine, enabling Instagram-grade photoshoot opportunities! If time/conditions allow we will also go over some basic mountaineering skills like self belay, self arrest, various crampon techniques etc.

Total trip distance will be <7.5 miles, with <3000 ft of elevation gain.

Current forecast is very cold, so you should have prior winter hiking experience with a full skin coverage. Based on current weather conditions his trip will give you a solid above treeline experience (windchill!) without ever being more than a mile from treeline.

The plan is to leave super early Saturday morning and return in the evening.
