- Some winter hiking experience, comfortable with hikes of 7+ miles.
Join us for a hike up to Mt. Pierce, right at the edge of the alpine zone in the Southern Presis!
We'll start near the AMC Highland Center, taking the Crawford Path up to the summit. The total round-trip distance is about 7 miles, with 2400' of elevation gain.
Current forecast for Saturday is very cold---a high of -6F at the summit with winds of 30mph---so make sure you are comfortable with your layers. As the summit is just above the treeline, full face coverage (balaclava and goggles) will be required.
