Prerequisites
Have hiked in the winter in the Whites before. Good physical condition.

Join us on a hike to The Moose for an introduction to above-treeline travel!

We'll take the Glencliff trail, which is relatively moderate for an above-treeline 4000 footer (about 8 miles, 3000' elevation gain). The above-treeline portion of the hike is only about a half mile, making this a great way to test out your goggles and balaclava, and practice full face coverage.

It's supposed to be very windy on Saturday, so if the conditions are unsafe we'll turn around at the treeline (and possibly bag South Pk). If we're lucky, the bare summit of Moosilauke will provide great views of Franconia Ridge and the Presidentials!
