Join Cody, Leigh Ann, Pooya, and Sally for a traverse of South, Middle, and North Moats in two groups. One group will start from West Side Road and hike south to Passaconaway Road. The other group will do the hike in the opposite direction. The two groups will exchange snacks, high fives, and car keys somewhere on Moat Mountain Trail.
If you haven't done winter above-treeline hikes before, this would be a great introduction! If you've done it, then you already know it's awesome, so you should also join! We'll practice layering, delayering, using microspikes and trekking poles, and munching on snacks!
The hike will be 8.7 miles with about 3,000 feet of elevation gain. About three miles are above treeline! Here's a map.
If you're a driver, you should be comfortable with someone else driving your car for less than 10 miles.
