Join us for a weekend in the Northern Presidentials with awesome above treeline hiking and an even more awesome overnight! Plan to leave Boston very early (likely 4 a.m.) Saturday morning and return Sunday evening. We will spend Saturday night at the RMC Crag Camp cabin.

After starting at Appalachia Trail head, we'll hike ~4 miles, with 3400' elevation gain to Crag Camp, claim our spots in the cabin and decide whether conditions are best for a hike above treeline to Madison or Jefferson (with the possible addition of Adams to either of these), hiking an additional 4.5-5.5 miles and 2500' of elevation. At night, we'll refuel with some gourmet backcountry recipes at the cabin and beat Colie at her favorite card games. Sunday, we'll hike to the peaks we skipped the previous day, hiking 4.5-5.5 miles with 2500' of elevation and then hiking out ~4 miles, descending 3400'.

This will be a strenuous two days of hiking and requires strong endurance and efficient movement, but is great for anyone interested in learning the basics of overnight camping, as we'll be sleeping in an unheated cabin. We will practice using camping stoves and reviewing ice axe and crampon techniques.

Please note: sleeping in the cabin will cost $20 per person.
