- Previous hiking experience. Experience with microspikes is helpful but not required.
Join us on an 8 mile (3,500ft elevation gain) hike to the summit of North Kinsman. Depending on time/conditions we may add an extra mile to the summit of South Kinsman.
We'll start at Lafayette Campground and hike 1.5 mile to the Lonesome Lake Hut. The hut provides a great place to make gear changes if necessary. Then we'll continue 2.5 miles farther to the summit of North Kinsman. If we're feeling good and time allows, we'll continue another mile to the summit of South Kinsman where we can get a great view of Franconia Notch. Then we'll turn around and head back to the Hut before returning to the trailhead.
