Want to feel all stylish and suave up in the mountains? Come, be shaken and stirred by the Bonds. If you haven't done them before, the Bonds are arguably some of the prettiest mountains in the Whites, with beautiful 360 degree views of the Pemi valley unmarred by indications of civilization. a rarity in the Whites, and Bondcliff has a great sheer cliff vista, something that you don't really see in the Whites.
We will do the hike as an out and back from Lincoln Woods. The hike is long - 23 miles, ~4500 mi elevation gain, and hence quite strenuous. You should have had prior experience with long hikes before to do this one. A tentative map of the trip is here: https://www.gaiagps.com/public/6uUwd54b4fDMvVTO3cE4R8Vz/?layer=GaiaTopoRasterFeet
We will plan to leave Cambridge at 4 pm on Saturday, getting to Lincoln Woods before 7, and car camping for the night. On Sunday, we will plan to leave bright and early, hike back, and return to Cambridge late.
Estimated costs: The campsite will cost around $30. Depending on the group size (if it is more than 4), we might need to rent a car for 2 days, which will cost ~$140. Gas will cost roughly $46 round trip. All costs will be divided evenly across the group. Participants will be responsible for their own food on Saturday.
Gear needed: Tent (shared) or hammock, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, headlamp, enough water for 1.5 days, or water for the night/morning + purification, dinner/breakfast/lunch/snacks, bowls/cups/utensils as needed, stove+fuel if you want hot dinner/breakfast. The leaders can help participants to rent gear if necessary.
