Trip date

Difficulty rating
Moderate to strenuous
Prerequisites
This should not be your first winter hike in the White Mountains.

Mt Moosilauke is a good introduction to above-tree-line travel. We will choose a route based on your preferences and snow conditions, but in any case you can expect to cover 8 miles with 3300 feet of elevation gained and lost.

The last 1/2 mile of the trail will be above tree line, so full body cover including a mask and goggles will be required. There cannot be any exposed skin, including your nose and cheeks, when you are wearing them.

We will leave from Camelot early Monday morning, so everyone should plan to spend Sunday night at Camelot. If you arrive early enough, we'll cook dinner together. The mountain is very close to Camelot, so we will eat breakfast at the cabin rather than driving into town.
