Got some ice climbing under your belt but want some more?!?!

Join us as we ice climb up East Osceola North Slide! The day begins by bushwhacking to the base of an ice climb that is not in the guide books. Seldom climbed, Osceola is a wild and remote experience. After following a frozen river bed, we'll hit the climb, where we expect to get anywhere from 3 to 10 pitches of WI2 to WI3 ice depending on snow cover. The technical difficulty is moderate, but there is a lot of it! We'll finish near the summit of Osceola and finish the short hike to the summit before following a hiking trail and road back to the cars.

Difficulty

This trip will be on the harder side. You must know how to lead belay, and you should have ice climbed before and felt great on top-rope for short vertical sections. We're climbing a mountain, so be prepared for a long day out and a descent that may be in the dark!

Cabin

Many of us will stay at the cabin on Fri night to make the drive on Sat am shorter.

TIme/Place

We will meet at the trailhead at 8am on Sat am.

Note

We will be vetting participants by hand on Wed. We will be in touch if we make any changes to the participant list.
