AWESOME Redneck Mt. Pierce, 6.4 miles, 2,400 feet. Reasons to join us:
You get to indulge your inner hillbilly with flannel, camo, and whatever other ridiculous stereotypes you want to go with. Note- Both leaders are AWESOME rednecks, so this isn’t offensive. Probably.
Mt. Pierce is a fun, moderate, AWESOME 4000 footer. You’ll get great winter hiking experience (being cold, layers, etc.) in the Presidential range, but without as much pain (and exposure) as other peaks. Plus, you get to satisfy your peak-bagging for the weekend.
The view is AWESOME (weather-permitting) from the summit, with Mt. Washington and the rest of the Presidentials looking all epic to the north.
The trail is of reasonable steepness, but probably a tad icy, so microspikes are needed.
