New Hampshire's rugged Sandwich Range is indeed named after the 4th Earl of Sandwich, the eponymous inventor of the sandwich. To celebrate this, we will be hauling our finest culinary skills (and some camping stoves) to the tops of two peaks in the Sandwich Range for a luxurious hot sandwich lunch.
We will climb Noon Peak (2976') and Jennings Peak (3460') by the Sandwich Mountain Trail, then return via the Drakes Brook Trail. Total distance will be about 6.4 miles with 2055' elevation gain. We will get an early start in the morning to maximize our hiking and picnicking time!
We are planning an optional overnight at MITOC's cabin Camelot on Saturday night with telescope-aided stargazing, weather permitting.
