We're happy to offer an ACA certified swiftwater rescue class taught by Mike Gatewood. The class will be held at Pemi Bristol in NH. The cost is $150 for non-students, $100 for students, and $50 for paddle leaders or those who commit to become a paddle leader within one year. If you took the class last year with Mike, you can retake the class free of charge. Course payment will be made directly to Mike through cash or check -- not to MITOC.
The SWR course is suitable for beginner whitewater paddlers. Taking this class will likely increase your comfort in the water. Swimming ability is required. Mike will provide various pieces of rescue equipment such as rescue PFDs, ropes, and pin kits, though some of this gear is available from MITOC.
