Prerequisites
Previous above treeline experience and very good physical fitness.

We'll be heading to the Northern side of the Presidential Range for a challenging but beautiful hike with lots of above treeline exposure and potential views (if weather allows).

We'll go up the Castle Trail, pop above treeline, summit Mt Jefferson, traverse towards Mt Adams and go down using Lowe's Path.

The loop we're aiming at is 11.5 miles long with 5200ft of elevation gain, with about 4 miles of above treeline travel.

We will be wearing crampons and carrying an ice axe for the majority of the trip, so this can be a good opportunity to get a good crampon experience. We will be passing through a treacherous snowfield between Mt Jefferson and Mt Adams, where we may also practice self-arrest skills time-permitting.

You absolutely need previous above treeline experience to join this trip, as well as good physical fitness and being efficient during breaks.
