This Saturday we'll be heading up Mount Tripyramid via the Pine Bend Brook trail. This hike is ~9.6 miles long (round trip) with 3425 feet of elevation gain. We will be visiting the middle and south peaks as conditions and time allow. This trail does not cross any of the very steep slides that hikers frequently descend in summer.
This hike is rated as difficult. You should be an experienced winter hiker
There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting this Thursday before the lecture. Winter boots and microspikes are required (both can be rented from MITOC). Plan to leave Cambridge early on Saturday. We will take snowshoes as required.
