Prerequisites
3-season hiking experience (and enthusiasm about butt-sledding!)

Do you love hiking up mountains but hate hiking down? Why not butt-sled instead?!

We'll start at the Crawford Notch AMC Highland Center, then hike up Mt Tom and Mt Field, then butt-sled down past Mt Avalon on the way.

This hike is about 7 miles, with 3000 ft of elevation gain. There will be a required pre-trip meeting this Thursday after lecture.

Map

Since you'll inevitably get covered in snow butt-sledding, you will need a waterproof layer on top and bottom. Also be prepared to carry a very small sled on the hike up, in addition to your other winter gear.
