This session will focus on the fundamentals of paddling, including proper sea kayak terminology, stroke techniques (forward, reverse, sweep, draw), and intermediate maneuvering. This session is intended for folks with some familiarity paddling, who may be newer to sea kayaking and would like to develop skills they can use on coastal waters or on kayak touring expeditions.

We will meet at the MITOC boathouse (building N52) and make a small spectacle on Mass. Ave. transporting 5 tandem and solo kayaks to the Charles River using boat carts. Dress to get a bit wet and bring a change of clothes. We'll be off the water by 8 pm to return the kayaks to the boathouse before dark.

Sign ups are open until 11am Wednesday, June 26 when the lottery will run. Cost for this session will be $15 including all necessary equipment. Contact me if that expense is prohibitive to your participation.
