Hi everyone,

Do you want to learn to whitewater kayak? Now's your chance! Join some MITOC paddle leaders on the Pemigewasset river in New Hampshire and learn the basics of river reading and river running.

This is an introductory trip and no experience is necessary. It is important that you are comfortable in the water and know how to swim, however. I promise you will get wet :)

We will have a planning meeting on Saturday May 18 at 8pm in the MITOC boathouse (behind the MIT museum) to select gear and prepare everything. We will reconvene at the boathouse at 7am on Sunday May 19 to drive to a class II river in New Hampshire and we will return in evening. Please only sign up if you can commit to the gear selection meeting on Saturday as well as the trip on Sunday.

You should plan to bring clothing that is warm when wet (wool, synthetics), a change of clothes, water, and lunch if you don't want to buy food. We will provide all of the kayaking related gear.

This is a first come, first serve trip. There is another trip Saturday May 18 (see separate trip posting), and we will have some more trips the first weekend of June.

Trip cost will be $12, which is just the cost of boat rental (gas will be extra but work this out with your driver).

Email me if you have any questions (bodwyer651@gmail.com)

See you on the river, Bo and Adam
