Intro

We'll be heading to Rattlesnake rocks (Blue Hills) to review top-rope anchor building.

Requirements:

None other than mitoc membership, though this session will be ideal for those who attend Thursday's (3/21) TRS on basic knots or have prior exposure to common knots and principles of top-rope anchor building on bolts and natural features.

Where and When:

Sunday 3/24 @ 1:00-3:30 pm. Please fill out the rideshare, and park on the north/west shoulder of the road. (1539-1547 Wampatuck Rd, Quincy, MA 02169. GPS: 42.230552,-71.040188)

What We'll Cover:

The clinic will have a short review of anchor building principles (and knots/hitches as needed) but will be focused on maximizing anchor building practice. If there's time at the end we may climb as well.

Gear:

  • Helmet -- REQUIRED FOR ALL OUTDOOR MITOC TRIPS
  • Harness
  • Belay device
  • 1 locking carabiner
  • (optional) PAS
  • (optional) cordelette
